Linskeldfield Farm,
CA13 9SR

We offer four self-contained, holiday cottages which have been created within a purposely converted barn. They have all been furbished to a very high standard, taking into consideration the needs of you the holiday maker. All four cottages have outstanding views, of the surrounding hills and open countryside, all Visit Britain rated 4****

We are based on a family run 'working farm' within the Lake District National Park, set in beautiful surroundings, with superb views across to Skiddaw and Binsey Fell. The farm and cottages are located up a private lane, off a quiet country road and are set in their own 200 acres of land. This is a very quiet, peaceful rural area but only a few miles away from the local towns of Keswick and Cockermouth. Both of which have a good selection of shops for food and other commodities.

We are close to fells, mountains, lakes and open countryside, where you can truly escape from the stresses and strains of everyday hustle and bustle. We are only a stone's throw from the Reivers Cycle Route for those of you who would like to bring your bikes, we have secure lock-up facilities. Even children could cycle safely, as the country roads round here have so little traffic. You are more likely to find a squirrel or pheasant on the road than a car.
Bike hire is available locally, please see our walker & cyclist friendly page.

We have free Wi-Fi access throughout all of our cottages and games room as well as a complementary computer we have set up in the laundry room for internet access.

Linskeldfield Farm has it's own tarn close-by. Here you can use the 12 man purpose built bird hide to watch the wild birds, ducks, geese and other water birds including our resident swans and otters. The osprey viewpoint at Dodd Woods is only a 10 minute drive away. Here they have high-powered telescopes trained onto the osprey's nest. More details can be found on the Tarn page.

Completed April 2011 our fabulous new Games room, a converted barn has been turned into a spectacular games room, there is a full size pool table, Darts Board, Games machines, Computer console, fresh ground coffee machine and much more for the use of our guests during their stay.

We have a fully enclosed children's play area with football goal posts and a children's play activity tower comprising of tower deck, wave slide, rock climber, fun telescope, swing's and picnic table and benches, we hope this gives our younger guests hours of fun and excitement.

We also appreciate the amount of planning and packing involved in holidaying with young children, we can supply, ready to use in your cottage on arrival many essentials you may need during your stay, all with our complements, please look at our children and babies page for a full list of equipment available.

Outside the cottages, available to rent we have a luxurious 7ft wooden dog kennel comprising of box and undercover run area, for your exclusive use during your stay, complete with padlock for peace of mind, the kennel is fully cleaned after each guest leaves but we would ask you to keep them clean during your stay and use the bins provided. We would ask you to bring bedding or throws to be used in the kennel.

So, you can see this would be the ideal retreat for you, your family and friends. Children, Pets, Cyclists and Walkers are very welcome, so why wait - get in touch and tell us when you would like to visit.
